Vintage Distressed Jacket
If you’ve fallen off of the radar and find yourself slightly dishevelled sinking scorpion shots on a tropical beach, there’s a good chance you’re quite a windswept and interesting character.
The original jacket is very heavily distressed and the design dates back to the 1930’s era, it’s a bit rough around the edges as you might imagine the man who is wearing it to be. There is a charm in that though.
Over the last two years, we have been experimenting with finishes for the leather and gauging feedback from you on Instagram and in the forums. This jacket has been a long time coming.
First and foremost, the finish is quite different to the original jacket. It became quite clear early on that the goal of perfection here was unattainable. So what have we done? Well, we opted for a soft dark brown lamb leather, that is very subtly distressed around the seams in particular. Following that, the jacket is put through a leather “wash” this wash has the affect of removing much of the sheen from the leather finish and generally giving it a pre-worn vibe. What we decided to do was offer a jacket that simply appears like it has been around for quite a few years.
Please DO NOT buy this jacket expecting it to be the same finish as the original, it is not. Does it represent that jacket well and give off the same sort of vibes? I think it does. Wear it to death and it will improve with age.
